Now that I've been blogging on movies, I felt the need to get a little more into the directors and such. We hear a movie is going into production and we go "ALL Right! It's about time!". We get all excited and then the movie sucks. Case in point: I don't know how many remember, but back in the day, before we had all this computer generated visual effects, they made a Fantastic Four movie. I think it was in the 80's. I worked in a comic shop, Adventure Comics and Toys in Monterey, Ca. We got a hold of the bootleg version and let me tell you, it was BAD! Take the upcoming Superman: the Man of Steel. Will I like it? Most likely. The director is Zack Snyder, he's directed Sucker Punch, Legend of the Guardians: the Owls of Ga'Hoole, Watchmen, 300 and Dawn of the Dead. Now did I like those movies just for the story? Most likely not. The visual effects had a lot to do with it as well. Now, on with my thoughts. The pre-vis effects person for this movie is Kyle Robinson. What has he done? Well, he's worked on, in the same capacity on films like Sucker Punch, which just from the trailers I've SEEN, makes me water at the "eyes" in anticipation. The upcoming Green Lantern. Percy Jackson, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Speed Racer, Iron Man, Live Free or Die Hard, Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, and a host of others. So do I think I'm going to like this upcoming Superman movie, YOU BET. So that's it for my thoughts for now.
